Every question is tagged with similar past HSC questions, so you know exactly what to practise next. Sit it under exam conditions, then mark it with the marking kit.
No sign-up. No email. No catch. Just the paper, the marking kit and a revision map.
What band would your mark be?
An approximate HSC band for your mark, based on the raw marks past HSC Chemistry students needed for each band (2021–2025). The striped strips show how much the cut-offs moved from year to year; the top two levels show roughly where an HSC mark of 95 and state ranks have come.
How many marks did a Band 6 take?
The raw mark students needed for a Band 6 (an aligned mark of 90) in each past HSC Chemistry exam. It moves from year to year with the paper and how it was marked: from about 78 in 2020 to about 87 in 2024 and 2025. For this mock we use the 2021–2025 average, about 86, as the Band 6 line.
Note: the raw mark needed for a Band 6 isn’t necessarily a sign of how hard an exam was, because it also depends on how the exam was marked. 2021 and 2022 are generally regarded as the hardest recent HSC Chemistry papers, yet both needed more raw marks for a Band 6 than 2019 or 2020.

Bands are an estimate only: cut-offs are worked out from raw marks past students bought from NESA and submitted to rawmarks.info, a small sample each year, and your HSC band also depends on your paper, how it’s marked and your cohort. · Want the team behind this paper?
